When a print book is sold through Aerio, it is a wholesale sale through Ingram Book Company. Here's how it works:
- Aerio buys the book from Ingram Book Company at the wholesale discount, and allows you to resell it with the remaining margin.
- We subtract 15% of the sales price as an Aerio fee and an additional 40 cents per unit. Aerio charges these fees for handling taxes, returns, refunds, and consumer support.
Your potential profit on every book sale is shown in the “Product Settings” of each title in "My Inventory." This number changes according to the pricing and discounting choices you make on titles.
Note: A publisher is also earning a sale through wholesale, but Aerio only shows you what you profit as a reseller. If you are the publisher and a reseller, you could make a combined margin of ~70% of list price for a trade title.
