When a print book is sold through Aerio, it is a wholesale sale through Ingram Book Company. Here's how it works, as well as an example.
Aerio purchases the book based on |
|
Publisher set wholesale discount (this is not the trade discount Aerio, as the retailer, will receive) |
+ | Ingram distribution product costs
Ingram fulfills and ships the book |
+ | 5% off list price (includes fulfilment and returns processing) |
+ | $0.40 pick pack fee/unit
Aerio fees (includes payment processing, PCI compliance, and consumer support) | + | 15% of item price charged to customer |
How do I know how much I make in profit on an Aerio sale?
Your potential profit on every book sale is shown in the “Product Settings” of each title in "My Inventory." This number changes according to the pricing and discounting choices you make on titles.
Spark Author/Publisher Note: The Product Settings page displays profit earned by selling through Aerio. You will also earn wholesale revenue if selling your own titles (via Ingram Book Company).
